The top private schools in Moreton Bay on 2025 results are The Lakes College at North Lakes (97 for Years 7–10), Genesis Christian College at Bray Park (96) and All Saints Primary School at Albany Creek (95 for primary).[1][2] Published fees for one child at the top 15 range from $2,910 a year for Year 1 at Christ the King Catholic Primary School to $19,550 for Year 10 at The Lakes College.[3][4]
This guide ranks the private (non-government) schools in the City of Moreton Bay council area, with no Brisbane or Sunshine Coast schools, and compares what each one charges. The state schools have their own guides: our top 20 state primary schools and top 10 state high schools in Moreton Bay.
Key takeaways
- The Lakes College (97), Genesis Christian College (96) and All Saints Primary School (95) lead Moreton Bay’s private schools on 2025 results.[1][2]
- The top 15 mix six primary schools, six Prep–12 colleges and three secondary colleges.
- Year 1 costs $2,910 to $3,756 at the three Catholic primary schools in the list, and $4,640 to $12,240 at the independent schools.[3][5][6][4]
- Year 10 costs run from $6,495 at Australian Christian College – Moreton to $19,550 at The Lakes College, which includes a 14-day outdoor education camp.[6][4]
- Catchments and enrolment management plans apply only to state schools, so each private school sets its own enrolment rules.[7]

The Lakes College, St Benedict’s College and St Michael’s College have already published their 2027 fees; the other figures are for 2026, so expect them to rise for 2027. Grace Lutheran College’s figure is for its Rothwell campus; its Caboolture campus charges $12,310 for Year 10.[13]
We started with the 37 non-government schools that the Department of Education’s records place in the Moreton Bay council area,[19] looked up each one’s 2025 score on Better Education’s suburb pages, and checked every score and fee schedule on 6 and 7 November 2026.[1][2] We left out special assistance, flexible learning and trade colleges, which serve particular groups of students, and schools with no 2025 score, such as Pine Community School, Birali Steiner School, Redwood College and Pinnacle Academic College in Kallangur. Prince of Peace Lutheran College is not included, because the Department’s records place it at Everton Park, in Brisbane City.[19]
Better Education’s State Overall Score rates English and maths test results from 60 to 100.[20] Only 14 of the area’s mainstream private schools have a score for Years 7–10, so a top 15 has to include primary schools. Some Prep–12 colleges score differently by stage: Good Shepherd Christian School at Albany Creek scores 94 on primary results but 82 for Years 7–10, which keeps it out of this list.[2][1]
A score measures results, not everything a school does, and results also reflect students’ backgrounds.[21] ACARA, which runs NAPLAN, has long discouraged league tables built from its data because they don’t show the full picture of a school.[22] Use the list to decide which schools to visit, and read each school’s My School profile.[23]
It varies, which is why we compare totals rather than tuition alone. Mueller College includes compulsory camps and excursions in its tuition,[9] Grace Lutheran Primary School’s resource and activity levy covers camps and excursions,[11] and St Michael’s College quotes one fee that includes all levies.[17] The Lakes College lists its 14-day Year 10 outdoor education camp separately, at $2,860.[4]
Family levies are charged once per family, not per child, such as The Lakes College’s $550 capital levy and St Benedict’s College’s $1,051 capital levy.[4][15] Most schools also discount tuition for younger siblings, and many give a discount for paying the year up front, so a family with two or three children pays less per child than the table shows. Budget for one-off costs too: The Lakes College, for example, charges a $160 application fee and a $600 confirmation fee, and holds a $1,000 family deposit that is refunded when your last child leaves.[4]
In this list, the Catholic schools charge less. Year 1 at the three Catholic primary schools costs $2,910 to $3,756, against $4,640 to $12,240 at the independent schools.[3][5][6][4] For Year 10, the two Catholic colleges charge $6,856 (St Benedict’s College, 2027) and $8,090 (St Columban’s College, 2026),[15][18] while the independent colleges range from $6,495 at Australian Christian College – Moreton to $19,550 at The Lakes College.[6][4] What each fee includes differs, so compare the schedules, not just the totals.
No. Catchments and enrolment management plans apply to Queensland state schools,[7] and each private school runs its own enrolment process, so ask about waiting lists and when to apply for your child’s year. Where you live still matters for the daily trip: check the drive at school times and any school bus routes before you buy.
If you may move a child to a state school later, check the state catchment of the address too. Our guides to the top state primary schools and top state high schools in Moreton Bay show which of those schools run enrolment management plans.
The top 15 cluster in five areas. These are descriptions, not recommendations.
North Lakes and Mango Hill
The Lakes College is in North Lakes, and St Benedict’s College and St Benedict’s Primary School are in neighbouring Mango Hill. One of our Mango Hill buyers, a mum of two, wanted a home close to schools and transport that the family could stay in until the children finish school (read the Mango Hill story).
Bray Park and Albany Creek
Genesis Christian College is in Bray Park and All Saints Primary School in Albany Creek. We have bought in both suburbs, including a Bray Park home secured for $1.125 million for clients relocating from Perth (read the Bray Park story).
The Redcliffe peninsula
Mueller College and Grace Lutheran College share Rothwell, and Grace Lutheran Primary School is in nearby Clontarf.
Caboolture
Four of the top 15 are in Caboolture: Australian Christian College – Moreton, Caboolture Montessori School, St Michael’s College and St Columban’s College.
Dakabin, Deception Bay and Samford Valley
Northpine Adventist College is in Dakabin, Christ the King Catholic Primary School in Deception Bay, and Samford Valley Steiner School in Wights Mountain. For prices and rents across the region, see our Moreton Bay property market guide and the full set of Moreton Bay suburb reports.

We have bought for school-driven briefs before, including a family home in The Gap bought for one of Brisbane’s top-performing state high school catchments (read The Gap story).

The score reflects English and maths results only, so visit the schools and read their My School profiles before you decide.
How much are private school fees in Moreton Bay?
For one child among the top 15 private schools, published Year 1 fees run from $2,910 a year at Christ the King Catholic Primary School to $12,240 at The Lakes College (2027), and Year 10 fees from $6,495 at Australian Christian College – Moreton to $19,550 at The Lakes College. These figures include compulsory levies and exclude one-off enrolment fees and discounts.
Which top private schools in Moreton Bay have the lowest fees?
